Initially planned to end in 2023, the plan has been extended until July 31, 2024 . However, and this is the most relevant, the Government confirmed the continuity of aid during 2025, integrating them into a new support framework that will maintain the structure of the Moves III until a permanent successor is defined.
The Moves III Plan (efficient and sustainable mobility incentive program) is an initiative of the Government of Spain, managed through IDAE (Institute for Diversification and Saving of Energy) and transferred to the Autonomous Communities, which are responsible for its application and payment.
Its main objective is to promote the purchase of alternative energy vehicles and the installation of recharge points in order to advance the decarbonization of transport.
Who can request help?
The plan is aimed at a wide range of beneficiaries:
- Individuals and autonomous.
- Communities of Owners.
- Private companies.
- Public Administrations.
Aid for the purchase of vehicles
The amount of the aid varies depending on the type of vehicle and if an old car is attached. The Acharrar car must be more than 7 years old and be in the buyer's name since at least 12 months before.

The other great advantage: 15% deduction in IRPF
Regardless of the direct aid of the MOVES III, private buyers can benefit from a deduction in their income statement (IRPF) of 15% on the purchase value of the vehicle (including taxes), with a maximum base of 20,000 euros.
This is an additional fiscal aid of up to 3,000 euros . It is compatible with the help of the Moves, but it is important to remember that the direct help of the Moves does pay as a patrimonial gain in the statement of the following year.
How is Moves III Plan requested?
This is a key point that often generates confusion. The general process is as follows:
- Purchase and registration: The buyer acquires the vehicle in a concessionaire attached to the plan. The invoice must be after the start of the program.
- The concessionaire manages the application: it normally, it is the concessionaire itself that is responsible for carrying out all the procedures to request the help in the client before the administration of the corresponding autonomous community. The concessionaire is also obliged by law to apply an additional and direct discount on an invoice of 1,000 euros .
- Payment by the Administration: Once the application is approved, the Autonomous Community enters the amount of aid directly into the buyer's bank account.
Attention! The main drawback of the plan is the delay in the payment . Depending on the Autonomous Community, the buyer may take between 6 and more than 18 months to receive the money, so he must advance the full amount at the time of purchase.
Aid for recharge points
The Moves III Plan also subsidizes the installation of recharge points for electric vehicles. For individuals, self -employed and owners, the aid is 70% of the cost of the installation (including equipment and labor). This help is increased to 80% if the installation is carried out in a municipality of less than 5,000 inhabitants.
In summary, the Moves III Plan, next to the deduction in the IRPF, represents a very powerful aid ecosystem that can significantly reduce the cost of acquiring an electric or plug -in hybrid vehicle in Spain. Its current validity makes it the main promotional argument for this type of cars.
