Manual-Mecanica Answer on the Re: Blazer radiator foam
That's the advantage of forums; each member contributes their knowledge and experience in the automotive workshop world. First, examine the radiator to see if the transmission cooler tube is indeed broken. Check the transmission fluid and its appearance to see how much water has entered the system. Also, check the engine oil just in case. Let us know how it goes. Best of luck.

Manual-Mecanica Answer on the Re: Blazer radiator foam
Yes, I checked the engine oil and it's clean. The only thing that concerns me is the transmission fluid level. With the engine off, before the level barely touched the dipstick, and now it's way overfilled, but I don't see: HUH: any traces of water. The oil is that brownish color and very thin; when I touch it with my fingers, it's not viscous.

Well, even though you've already solved the mystery, I'll chime in a bit to comment. There are two cases I've seen: in the first, the water got through but didn't enter the transmission, and in the second, it did enter but didn't mix because the transmission wasn't working. However, the level did rise, as you correctly stated. The oil is on top, and all the water is at the bottom. Remove the transmission drain plug and you'll see. Good luck.

Manual-Mecanica Answer on the Re: Blazer radiator foam
In Venezuela, when they had fun race competitions, during stages where you had to cross a river and the vehicle practically sank, if water got into the engine, they would do two or even three oil changes to get the water out. I think, and based on what kikemec said, that two transmission oil changes should be enough. For the first change, wait 10 minutes with the engine running, obviously shifting through all the positions of the gear selector to allow the water to drain from the transmission valve body. Then proceed with the second oil change and test the transmission. Remember to drain the oil from the torque converter with each oil change. If your transmission doesn't have a drain plug, take advantage of the opportunity and install one. I did one on mine, which is a 4L30E, and it really makes the job easier by draining the oil beforehand instead of waiting for it to soak you. Let me know how it goes. Best of luck!

: Cheer: Yes, Wolfi77, I'm not entirely clear on the draining process. What should I do first? Drain it through the oil pan and then add the new oil, with the filter replaced? And then drain it through the pipe that connects to the radiator with the engine running and shifting gears? There's a coil inside the radiator; could that be the damaged part? I read about it on another forum, but I haven't looked into it yet. I want to be sure before making any decisions. I'm waiting for the oil to be shipped from Buenos Aires to my province of Mendoza. Those parts aren't available here. Thanks, Wolfi, I'll keep you posted. Regards.
