Volkswagen has presented in Postdam the eighth generation of the Passat, a new car that premieres design, new technologies and more efficient motors. The new Volkswagen Passat saves 20% of fuel consumption, weighs up to 85 kilos less and has gasoline engines, diesel; and even a plug -in hybrid engine.

The new Passat, the best -selling Volkswagen model in the world during 2013, will be launched in both Berlina and family version. At the aesthetic level, the Volkswagen Passat has a lower body, a larger wheel and larger wheels.

At the technological level, the versions are equipped with Start-Stop system and braking energy recovery mode. In addition, the new Passat includes a completely digital instrument panel, the extensible upper screen, the Seat Entertainment Rear and the Front Assist with a city emergency brake and pedestrian control. In addition, the Volkswagen Passat model three other systems: Emergency Assist (the vehicle stops in case of emergency), Trailer Assist (maneuvers assistant with trailer) and traffic Jam Assist.

Volkswagen Passat Motorizations

The Volkswagen Passat is available with ten turbocharged engines gasoline and direct injection diesel, which offer a power range from 120 to 280 hp. All engines comply with Euro 6 emission regulations, and their CO2 emissions have been reduced by 20%.

For the first time, the Passat will have a hybrid-meching version, equipped with a 115KW gasoline TSI engine, 80 kW electric motor and externally rechargeable battery. With a total power of 211 hp, it will be the most powerful plug -in hybrid of the Volkswagen range and will have an autonomy of 50 kilometers in electric mode.

The new Volkswagen Passat will arrive in Spain in the last quarter of 2014. Its price will start from 26,510 euros in the Berlina version and 28,190 euros in the Variant version.
