After Volkswagen's fraud, a new chapter on the problem with vehicle emissions is opened. On this occasion the problem reaches the Galo Renault manufacturer.
Although it is far from the fraud committed by Volkswagen with the emissions of its vehicles, the automotive sector suffers a new varapalo when Renault is forced to call 15,000 vehicles after detecting high levels in their emissions.
The French Minister of Ecology, Ségolène Royal said today that the manufacturer Renault has committed to contact the owners of the cars to verify and adjust the engines, after the finding of these high levels of polluting emissions.
Apparently in this case it is simply a problem with the filtration system that will need to be readjusted to work properly when it is very hot or when the temperature is below 17 degrees.
This adjustment will be made in just half a day and will not affect at all the performance of the vehicle which is completely unmarked in the case of Volkswagen since in this case no fraud has been committed, it is simply a technical failure such as those that have already happened on some occasions to practically all brands.
These measures are a reaction after last week's revelations on two Renault models -the Captur and Espace -, which have been submitted to specific technical evidence, organized at the request of the French government, with the aim of verifying the level of polluting emissions.
The minister is her statements, noted that, apart from Renault, "there are other brands that exceed the" emission standards they have to comply with their cars, although she did not want to give names. This suggests that it is very likely that other manufacturers will finish actions similar to those of Renault when high levels of polluting emissions in their vehicles are verified.
