Audi is expanding the services that Audi connect will offer in the future. Currently, the " Audi connect wireless payment " system, a solution that allows drivers conveniently pay parking fees from their vehicles,

Audi connect wireless payment" service simplifies parking , which often require drivers to first collect a parking ticket and then locate the payment machine, which is not always convenient or close to the vehicle. This service integrates wireless payment into the vehicle as another Audi connect , similar to the navigation systems with Google Earth and Google Street View, which are already available.

During the trial phase, involving 13,000 vehicles, the car communicates with the parking facility using an RFID radio frequency transmitter. To do this, the vehicle is equipped with a wireless transponder mounted inside the windshield. To activate the service, the parking user must register online through a website using the vehicle's transmitter number.

The Ingolstadt Economic Development Agency (IFG) provides the service, which operates nine parking garages and underground car parks in the city, with a total of 6,200 spaces and 21 entrances and exits. Participants in the pilot project will receive a detailed monthly invoice from IFG outlining all charges, and the amount will be debited from the user's bank account via direct
debit.

Audi employees who lease a new vehicle in the coming months can participate in the pilot program. Upon vehicle delivery, the user receives the remote payment system kit, including their wireless identification. By the end of the year, all parking users in Ingolstadt will be able to benefit from this system.
