BP laboratories have been looking for a new technology that improves car performance for 5 years. During the process they realized that dirt was the most important factor in terms of performance impoverishment.

They demonstrated that dirt damages key engine systems (injectors, valves, turbocharger and particulate filter), preventing these parts from reaching their maximum performance.

They mainly observed that, due to the need for oxygenation, an engine with clogged intake valves (gasoline) or particulate filters (diesel) could become congested, limiting its performance. Furthermore, these filters are small and do not need to be completely blocked for dirt to negatively affect them.

What types of dirt exist?

By now, you're probably wondering what kind of dirt can accumulate in an engine. The type of dirt depends partly on the engine type, but both diesel and gasoline engines commonly exhibit the following types of dirt.

Carbon deposits accumulate on the hot surfaces of the injector and can block its tiny orifices. These deposits can also form on other high-temperature components, such as the EGR (exhaust gas recirculation) system, and accumulate in other parts, such as turbochargers.

Solid soot particles originating from partially burned fuel.

Solid metallic particles produced by the wear of engine components. These particles are abrasive and can further increase deterioration.

There is also dirt that can appear exclusively depending on the type of engine. For example, in diesel engines, impurities from the fuel manufacturing process can appear, and in gasoline engines, deposits can appear on the intake valve. These deposits form when combustion gases mix with both fuel and lubricant on the valve surface. This type of engine can also have accumulations derived from the oil.

ACTIVE technology to prevent dirt

Upon realizing the problem, BP laboratories conducted various tests until they found a product that prevented dirt problems on vehicles; thus, ACTIVE anti-dirt technology was born.

This technology, currently applied to all BP fuels, prevents the formation of dirt deposits in the engine, which significantly improves the car's performance. Specifically, in laboratory tests, the same vehicle, under exactly the same conditions, achieved 56 km more per tank in the case of diesel engines and 44 km more in the case of ghostwriter dissertation .

This technology is so effective that with just 2 refuelings it is possible to clean the dirt deposits, obtaining the aforementioned performance from that moment on.
