The new 0.9 Twinair engine, thanks to the multiair system (a new electrohydraulic system of valve management) increases performance and response with respect to a traditional gasoline engine of equal displacement. The integration of different technological elements such as the multiair system, the Start & Stop and the DNA also allow to reduce consumption and emissions up to 30%.
Applied to gasoline engines, multiair technology allows a power of up to 85CV, with the consumption of a diesel, allowing the driver to choose the driving mode. On a comfort level the double mass steering wheel eliminates vibration and brings the engine noise.
The reduction of consumption is achieved thanks to direct air control, using the engine intake valves, without using the butterfly valve. For their part, polluting emissions are reduced thanks to combustion control. All this significantly increases benefits and response with respect to a similar engine of traditional gasoline.
