The criteria that individual mobility systems must meet are subject to considerable changes, especially in relation to traffic in regions of high demographic density. The increase in traffic density, energy costs and legal norms that limit CO2 emissions constitute important challenges that must be overcome in the future.
The first products that BMW Motorrad presents in this context are two vehicles belonging to the Maxi-Scooter sector. The BMW C 600 Sport and the BMW C 650 GT combine the excellent dynamic properties of a motorcycle with the agility and comfort of a scooter, allowing to experience a new very dynamic form of driving on two wheels.
Considering its different concepts, C 600 Sport was conceived rather for those who prefer a sports driving style, while C 650 GT is appropriate for people who attribute more value to comfort, and who plan to use their scooter to walk and travel.
Regardless of its different character, both C 600 Sport and C 650 GT have the unmistakable style of BMW Motorrad, also achieving in that sense to establish a new reference ribbon in the segment. Its modern and dynamic design harmonizes perfectly with the aesthetics of BMW Motorrad products.
Powerful two -cylinder in line with CVT transmission
The online two cylinders of the C 600 Sport and C 650 GT is a completely new propeller developed by BMW Motorrad. It has a displacement of 647 cm3 and its nominal power is 44 kW/60 hp at 7,500 rpm. Its maximum torque is 66 Nm to 6,000 rpm. The transmission is in charge of an integrated CVT box (continuously variable transmission, that is, continuous variable transmission).
The engine is mounted on a very low part of the scooter, so the center of gravity is also very low. The bench is tilted forward in 70 degrees. The characteristic sound and the silky operation of the engine are explained by the 90 degree lag of the stumps, the 270 degree on and the presence of two compensation trees operated by frontal pinions.
The preparation of the four -valve motor mixture per cylinder and head camshaft is in charge of an electronic injection system. Oil feed is dry crankcase with double oil pump. An efficient cooling system is responsible for maintaining optimal thermal conditions in the bicylindrical engine.
The exhaust system is stainless steel and respects the corresponding valid standards for motorcycles in general. The C 600 Sport and the C 650 GT have a catalyst and Lambda probe, so now the gas emission limits of the future EU4 standard are now.
Optimized chassis for extraordinary maneuverability and stability
During the development phase of C 600 Sport and C 650 GT, one of the goals consisted of combining fidelity to the trajectory in line at high speeds on highways with great maneuverability in urban traffic. Another objective was that the scooter always keeps the driver informed about his dynamic behavior.
To achieve these combined goals, C 600 Sport and C 650 GT have a hybrid steel pipes and an aluminum -injected casting element in the swingarm support. The online two cylinder engine also acts as a self -supporting component, contributing to the great rigidity of the set that results in the stable and precise behavior of the Scooter.
But the light casting of the swinging monobrazo with coaxial turning point also contributes to the optimal dynamic stability.
Likewise, the damping system also manages to increase sports and comfort qualities. In the front, the two scooters have an inverted fork with considerable 40 millimeters in diameter. On the back, the damping is in charge of a telescopic leg mounted on the left side in a horizontal position. The damping routes are 115 millimeters in both cases, which is equivalent to dimensions also applied in motorcycles. The width and profile of C 600 Sport tires and C 650 GT are also governed by usual dimensions in the motorcycle sector.
High performance brakes, standard with BMW Motorrad ABS
The new C 600 Sport and the new C 650 GT are equipped with a generous brake system. In the front wheel it includes double disc brake and in the posterior is simple disc. The three albums have a diameter of 270 millimeters. The BMW Motorrad ABS brake anti -lock system offers a maximum level of safety.
Multiple Functions instrument board and Optional LED Diury Driving Light
The instrument board of C 600 Sport and C 650 GT has an easy -to -read LCD display that includes a tapervolutions. The speedometer is analog. The board offers a quite larger number of functions than is usual in this type of vehicles.
BMW Motorrad offers for the first time a daytime light of luminous diodes that can be optionally mounted on C 600 Sport and C 650 GT.
C 600 Sport with Flexcase, a world novelty
The flexcase of C 600 Sport is an innovative system for saving diverse objects. When the motorcycle is stopped, a lid can be opened at the bottom of the seat to expand the space available for transport. The space is large enough to host, for example, two helmets.
