Corsa injection failure. Posted by manual-mecanica
Hello.
I'm new here and I'd appreciate any help with my Chevrolet Corsa pickup.
The problem is that I was driving and it suddenly jerked. I got home and when I opened the hood, I noticed the engine was running like it was only on two cylinders. I turned the engine off and back on, but the same thing happened. I waited for it to cool down to try again, and now it won't start at all. The next day, I replaced the ignition coil with a new one, thinking that might be the problem, but nothing changed. I measured the voltage at the injectors, and two are reading 12 volts while the other two are reading 0 volts. I followed the wires to the ECU, and there's another wire that disappears under the dashboard.
What could it be? The ECU? A faulty relay? Please help.
Thank you in advance for your time.
Regards
, Juan Carlos

Try checking the negative wires that run to the side near the timing belt. Sometimes the wires going to the coil get cut
(I don't know what country you're from to get more information).

The same thing happened to me, and it was the ignition coil. I stopped it fine, but when I restarted it, it was running on two cylinders. If you installed a new coil, check the wires because the problem might be there. They say the issue arises because the coil is mounted on the cylinder head, causing it to overheat and misfire.
Check if all the spark plugs are firing. Good luck!
