It's impossible, I changed it 10 months ago and the car hasn't been mistreated (a clutch shouldn't break in ten months under normal conditions, right?). Besides, before it happened, the feel and height were fine. I was pulling away from a stop sign and shifting into second gear, bam! It just stayed put. I've got it in the garage now, I'll try it tomorrow and see what happens. Cheers!

Greetings, I'm also new here but I've been working with vehicles for a while...
Okay, if you've already checked the axles, drive shafts, etc., and your problem is that the gears engage but the car doesn't move, it's very likely that the clutch disc is slipping, meaning there isn't enough friction and it's possibly worn out or loose from the shaft. It might be broken at that point, or the pressure plate might be very weak. The clutch system's pressure plate... what matters isn't when you installed it or its mileage, but how you drive your vehicle. A clutch disc can last three years or last a week. It also depends on the quality of the replacement part, traffic, whether you live in a mountainous area and accelerate on inclines, etc. There are many factors that determine how long they last. In my personal opinion, 10 months is a reasonable lifespan for a clutch system... Check the system; you'll have to disassemble it to verify. How are the 3 (almost always unless it's a multi-disc) mechanical elements of the clutch system located...good luck!

Greetings, everyone! Today I started taking the car apart. I lifted the whole front end, chocked it, and made sure the correct chocks were in place (just in case it fell from that height). Then I got to work. I removed the steering knuckles by disconnecting them from the shock absorber, the lower ball joint, and the steering. Next, I started removing the drive shafts (or axle shafts, as you call them). To my surprise, when I removed one, a metal clip and a washer of the same size, about 70mm in circumference, came out. The washer was broken and out of a groove where the axle shaft star fits. I went to an auto parts store, and they told me they didn't have it, so they sent me to a Renault dealership. So, I went and showed it to the parts receptionist at the Renault dealership, and he said they didn't have it, but if I ordered it, they could get it for me overnight. I said yes and asked if that was why the car wasn't moving, even though the wheels fit. Speeds, he tells me yes!!!!!!!!: Laugh: That washer and clip are what keep the gear in contact with the differential's planetary gear, and if it comes loose, it stops engaging and acts like it's been lifted from one side...it won't move! Phew, what a relief! Tomorrow I'll go get it, install it, and let you know how it goes. Cheers!!!!!!

Hello, greetings. I had a similar problem with a 2007 Peugeot 306. When I put it in gear, it had no traction. I checked the axle shafts on the transmission side, near the differential, and it turned out that one of the internally toothed shafts was broken. That's why it had no traction, and I didn't realize it until I lifted the car, got underneath it, and with the car in gear, I saw the toothed shaft rotating inside. It's not noticeable; it's the axle shaft on the passenger side. I hope this helps.

Check the transmission; perhaps the main gear is broken, which is why it's not transmitting torque. Lift one wheel, put it in 5th or 4th gear, and turn the wheel. If it moves, the engine is fine, but if it spins freely, it's a transmission problem.
