A Spanish transport company has just incorporated a new Diesel Methane Volvo liquefied natural gas engine (LNG) . The transport company, called Monfort, already has its own service station that dispenses GNL and CNG (compressed natural gas) .

The Volvo FM , is equipped with a 13L and 460 hp gas engine with a 2,300 nm motor torque. and I-Shift gearbox. The fuel combines up to 75% liquefied gas and the rest diesel, which can vary depending on how the vehicle is used.

This truck is between 30% and 40% more efficient than other similar vehicles and consumes about 25% less than traditional gas vehicles, using a diesel engine instead of the otto of spark ignition engine traditionally used. However, in case there is no gas, it can work without diesel problems. Thanks to the use of diesel technology in combination with liquefied gas, Volvo GNL can expand their operability range, this translates into the possibility of using gas trucks not only for regional transport but also for long -distance operations.
