Delorean reappears today back to the future
The DeLorean of the future has reappeared, this time as an autonomous vehicle for university research. Researchers at Stanford University, in collaboration with the University of California, San Diego, have modified a DeLorean DMC-12, the iconic car from the "Back to the Future" saga, to turn it into a rolling autonomous driving laboratory. The project, dubbed "MARTY" (Multiple Actuator Research Test bed for Yaw control), aims not only for the car to drive itself, but also for it to be capable of performing extreme maneuvers, such as controlled drifts, completely autonomously.
