XSARA 1.9 D 2002 is put in 3 cylinders published by Manual-Mecanica
Hello, I have an Xsara 2002 1.9D and a few days ago after a copious rain, I stayed on a street where there were about 15 cm of water, I did not know that the air intake was so down and it was full of water, apparently I did not reach water to the cylinder since the next day I start normally, but I am left a "intermittent" fault, say, since at times it stays at 3 cylids And the failure returns, the injectors told me that they were fine, which caught the attention that the spark plugs did not cut the current (probe with a lamp) and if I disconnect the food cable, the fault appears, I connect the cable again and the fault disappears. I need if please someone can help me with this failure. Thank you very much !!! A hug. Sergio.

Hello,

test by checking the spark plugs, usually when a cylinder stops working, it is because the spark plug is not working properly, even if you say that water does not reach the pistons there must be water in the acceleration body, you should dismant replaced, I also recommend that you check that the oil does not have water. I await your comments.

Thank you very much Sosa10, I'm going to do what you tell me. Then I tell you if the problem was solved. So it means that the spark plugs never stop warming ??? (I thought it was only for starting). Thanks again. a hug.

Hello Sergio1671, the spark plugs work all the time that the engine is turned on, if a spark plug does not send a spark or does not correctly do the vehicle presents a fault and immediately registers the CMU. I remain at your orders for any questions.

Manual-Mecanica response on the Re: XSara 1.9 D 2002 is put into 3 cylinders
A question that arises, if you say it is an Xsara 1.9D, we are talking about a diesel engine, right? I say it because what is being raised is as if the vehicle was gasoline, with the theme of spark plugs. In a diesel that preheating spark plugs, or heaters, any of them fails is not a reason or minimally sufficient to fail that cylinder.
Before pronouncing anything, I have that doubt, if it is diesel or gasoline, because one thing is the type of vehicle you say and another thing is what I am understanding with the explanations that are being given.
