The only smell "of Calentón" qeu distinguish is that of the varnish of the coils of the alternator or starter engine (electric motor or burned electronic compones) or the smell of burned oil. What smell did you refer to it.
Nor do I understand what you mean with "Remove the water tank cap and no steam or smoke." If smoke comes out of the cooling circuit, instead of steam, the thing has to be.
As the last colleague told you, first lift a wheel, put fifth and turn the wheel at hand to see if the engine is hard, but makes its compression movements etc. Or if on the contrary there is no way to move the wheel by hand (I would be gripped, bad matter).
