Manual-Mechanics' response on the topic Re: Only starts when the temperature is low
Hello. Based on the symptoms you describe, it could be anything from a mechanical failure of the injection pump to a sensor, relay, or module that, due to high temperatures, opens the circuit and stops the signal from flowing. As the circuit cools, it contracts and allows the signal to pass through again. The best course of action is to connect a scanner and monitor it in real time to see what it's failing to register. If it's a sensor or module failure, it should register codes. If the failure is mechanical, it might cause codes to be registered, but not necessarily.

Hi, based on the symptoms you described, I advise you to check the pressure of your fuel pump; it's probably damaged, which is why it malfunctions when it gets hot.

Your problem seems to be with the water pump. These engines are designed to shut off when the engine temperature rises. One test is quite simple: start the engine cold and turn the heater on full blast. Leave the engine running until it shuts off. If you don't get any heat, it means the water pump isn't working.
