More than 200 Volkswagen vehicles of all eras met in the coastal town of Tossa de Mar to celebrate the largest fans party of the brand organized in Spain. The “Amics del Volkswagen Amics Club of Catalunya”, with 29 years of history and organizers of this meeting since 2001, has achieved one more year to congregate approximately 450 people from different countries.
For the nineteenth year consecutive year, Tossa de Mar has been a meeting point for a large number of passionate of the classics Volkswagen refrigerated by air arriving from various parts of Spain, Europe and America. Magnificent units of the Volkswagen Beetle, some with more than 50 years of history, of the classic and iconic T (Transporter), the beautiful Karmann and even the spectacular Buggy, have been present. Its participants are disguised following a specific topic chosen by the organizers. This year's theme was terror and much of them even personalized their vehicles with motives related to this matter.
On Friday afternoon the first vehicles began to arrive at the "Cala Cala carried" to enjoy with the maximum energies of the activities that the organization had prepared for them. A complete program that for Saturday included a Ginkana through the streets of Tossa de Mar, a lively night party on the beach and for Sunday acceleration and skidding tests in an area especially enabled for it, as well as a Rúa through the streets of this Catalan town that culminated with a massive paella and awards ceremony to the protagonists.
The success of this meeting of fans of the classics Volkswagen once again demonstrates the mobilization capacity that icons such as Beetle and Transporter maintain over the years, and that promote their owners to meet and share experiences.

The founders of this club were a group of friends headed by Ramon Bartomeus and Montserrat Roig that had a common passion: their VW Beetle, this was how they founded in 1983 friends of the Volkswagen de Barcelona of Barcelona Elementary denomination of the current amics of the Volkswagen de Catalunya since almost all its members were from Barcelona.
