The app is designed so that the more than 20,000 members of WorldTrucker can share with other drivers, more quickly and easily, their experiences.

"The app is an extension of the website and a fantastic social tool for truck drivers that generate and share content directly from the road - from photos to useful information such as the best rest areas or the safer parking areas," says Paula Kühnel, online Communication manager in Volvo Trucks.

Among other functionalities, the app incorporates a GPS -based function that allows the driver to record and share their routes on a map. Through Tips (drivers' interest points) you can make check-in, comment, evaluate and upload photographs of specific locations, and share the information with their classmates. There is also a chat channel that allows drivers to contact users in the area.

To develop the app, the collaboration of WorldTruccker users through online surveys and interviews with drivers in rest areas has been collaborated.

"Truck drivers know better than anyone how life is on the road and this app developed by and for them," says Paula Kühnel.

Among the first to try the app was Lisa Kelly, Lisa Kelly, American truck driver, famous for her television series Ice Road Truckers that is broadcast in the US and member of WorldTruccker.

"This app will be a great help on the road. You can suggest places to eat, sleep or stop to rest along a route," says Kelly.

Lisa Kelly is very popular in the world of social networks and has a large number of followers and friends on Facebook, Twitter and in the World for Forum.

"I like to be in contact with the communities of the truck sector. There are many things that can unite this guild and that is the best of the concept of WorldTrucker. Other drivers can understand what you are doing."

This app is free and can be downloaded at the App Store and Google Play.
