The School of Engineers of the University of Navarra , based in San Sebastián, will start from October a new master's degree in production . The postgraduate degree, taught in collaboration with Volkswagen Navarra , intends to form expert engineers in production direction, incorporating the strategies, models and tools that have made the automotive sector a reference in industrial production management.
A group of Volkswagen Navarra technicians will collaborate in the training of the students of the Master, who will teach part of their school sessions at the Pamplona manufacturing plant, which will allow the knowledge acquired to be implemented in the factory itself and will facilitate the development of the master's job in any of the brand's plants distributed throughout the world.
Javier Santos, director of the new master in production , highlights that the postgraduate program is not limited to the automotive sector but encompasses production in any field, since this section constitutes a nuclear element of most companies.
In addition, this master's degree in production is transversal and admits students from different disciplines "from any industrial engineering to graduates in business administration and management. The Master has different outputs with what the training will also be diverse," adds Professor Santos.
The Master in Production , of 18 months, has the latest tools for production and tendencies of the sector, as well as a wide network of teachers from industrial companies and consulting. In addition to the involvement of Volkswagen Navarra in the practical work of the subjects, in access to the plant and advice in teaching, this training concludes with a master job of 6 months in companies of the German group, first level suppliers or other reference companies of other sectors.
The rector of the University of Navarra, Alfonso Sánchez-Tabernero, stressed that this new initiative reinforces the university's relationship with the Volkswagen , which collaborate since 1998.
