Manual-Mecanica Response on the Re: Motor Repair Clio 1998
Motor maintenance intervals are those that go per mileage and do not go beyond the change of distribution strap and tensioning rollers, polystic and tensioning rollers (water pump alternator A/AD/A ...) Oil and filter changes and the change of brake fluid and antifreeze.

In the gearbox, valvulina or ATF is replaced according to the change model and if it is automatic or manual.

All this is detailed in the vehicle repairs and maintenance manual, different from the user's instructions. If you did not have it, you can go to the Renault to consult that they do not charge for that, (of the rest .... hahaha)

the repair operations of an engine, are given by the use, mechanical breakdowns and depend on the type of motor, a gasoline ages faster than a diesel.

Before doing a repair operation, you have to have a breakdown or notice that the car does not do well. To check it, the most effective test is to measure engine compression with a compressimeter or compressiongraph with scale up to 12kg/cm2 in gasoline and up to 25kg/cm2 in diesel.

The reading of this little pot will be revealing of the engine status. To proceed with it, it is operated as follows:

1st start and heat the engine to its service temperature.

2º Remove the spark plugs (gasoline of course) and thread the scale compressimeter up to 12kg/cm2 in cylinder Nº1

3rd Keep the accelerator in depth and proceed to turn it with the starter engine (it is understood that for this the battery must be in good condition because you need a minimum of 250 to 300 rpm to make a valid reading.

4th write down the reading of the clock that must be around the clock. 8.5 or 9 to 9.5 kg / cm2 The exact value is in the workshop manual, in any case, in the motor maintenance book come the data of the engines,

displace hole of the spark plug and proceed to repeat the operation in the rest of the cylinders as

explained

. From the outlet, make a user with a broken heater (or buy it in Renault but it is very expensive) to be able to screw it, and to make exactly the same steps as with the gasoline engine but with the clock that measures up to 25kg/cm2

anyway, if your engine does not consume oil, nor do it throw it anywhere, nor pull water nor consume it by the cylinder head Why be wrong

I have a Corsa of 88 diesel with 355,000 km and the engine was opened with 228,000 km, I have an old express 1.4 of those that carried the super 5 engine with 216,000 and it has not been touched engine. "Repair the engine in another way" hahaha

I hope I have helped you
