Okay guys, I'm back again... In my first message, I was really eager for answers. Trying to help the Racing guys out... What a fool I am... The first problem with the car, for about a year now, was that it would stall every time I put it in neutral... To park, at a stop sign, or whatever... It was an idling problem... But you'd just restart it and keep driving... But then one day it wouldn't start at all, at a stop sign, with a bunch of cars behind me... The tow truck came and I took it to Racing. Without further ado, they replaced the starter motor (they put in a brand new one), €360. The next day the same thing happened, but of course I called them to see what the heck was going on. One of them came and gave the starter motor two taps! Like in the old days, man!!! And it started. It was kept under observation... for a week! They called me back and charged me €240. I took it back, they didn't touch anything about the idle, so it kept stalling. And on the morning of the second day, the car wouldn't start. I called them again, the guy came, and they'd left a wire jump-starting the starter motor. By touching the positive terminal of the battery, it started! What a rip-off! Another week under observation and they still didn't have the guts to fix it. On Tuesday, I took it to another mechanic (this one actually knows what he's doing). The first thing he said was that the idle problem was the first thing that needed fixing. It was the idle air control valve and a wire going to the gas pedal, which had a burnt connector causing a short circuit. It was also the idle air control valve. It was there for three days to see if the starter would fail. And it didn't. So, we're trying to figure out if it's the ignition switch (the key, basically). What an ordeal, guys! Sure, I can take on those other crooks... but in the end, it just takes more time and money. I have another car... that I'll never take there again, and a bunch of friends I'll never recommend that garage to. What a bunch of shameless bastards... Thanks, Megabeat_1 and Buga. And the rest of you, well, you see. Try to find a mechanic you can trust. The guys at Racing are just parts swappers... and that's about it.
