Isuzu 2.8TD injector for the 4JB1T engine. Published by manual-mecanica
Hello, I have a couple of questions. As I mentioned, I have a 1997 Isuzu 2.8 TD with a 4JB1T engine, and my problem is that after leaving it unused for a while (2 to 3 hours), it's hard to start. I have to pump fuel through the water separator
, and only after a couple of tries will it start and run without problems. My question is whether this injector (

www.dencodiesel.com/store/scripts/System...124011.JPG&Scale=1.0
) works correctly with just the conical washer (
www.eurodieselweb.com.ar/uploads/imagenes/lightbox_0271bl.jpg
) or if I also need to add the O-rings (as seen in this photo:
www.alamaula.com/capital-federal/accesor...4jai-45-4jb1/2890959
). And if they are installed correctly, that is, in that order, or how should they be installed?

Thank you very much .

Manual-mechanical response on the topic of Isuzu 2.8TD injector for the 4JB1T engine
B) Hello dear friend, the problem you're experiencing is more likely a vacuum leak in the fuel supply system to the injection pump.
Recommendations: 1) Check for fuel leaks on the injection pump housing.
2) Connect a clear hose from the fuel filter to the injection pump's fuel inlet and check if the fuel circulates with constant air bubbles.

If you observe leaks at the injection pump, you'll need to remove it and perform basic maintenance (replacing rubber seals, retainers, throttle shaft bushings, and washers).
If you observe air bubbles, change the filter and/or check the fuel supply circuit.

These troubleshooting methods are used in all types of conventional and electronic diesel injection systems (but not common rail systems!).

Manual-mechanical response on the topic of Isuzu 2.8TD injector for the 4JB1T engine
Hi, thank you very much for your response. I'll check that, but anyway, I still think, and I maintain, that it's because of the injector where it's drawing in air and backing up the fuel. One of the return hoses, when everything was reassembled (it was disassembled because the gasket blew since they put in the wrong one), was leaking, and diesel was splashing upwards from the base visible on the cylinder head. After tightening the hose, it was still splashing, so I went to the trouble of washing the entire engine and drying it with the compressor to see if it was still leaking. Since it wasn't leaking anymore, I deliberately poured diesel on it, and it was still splashing. From this, I deduced that compression was escaping from the injector. That's why

I'm asking: Besides the conical washer that sits on the base of the injector, does this injector have anything else, like O-rings (rubber washers)? IN THE HALF, AS SHOWN IN THE PHOTO???? Thank you all so much

Manual-mechanical response on the topic of Isuzu 2.8TD injector for the 4JB1T engine
Hi everyone, in case anyone's reading this, I think I'm on the right track. I found out that the injector does indeed have an O-ring, but that's not what's preventing the pressure from escaping. That's what's responsible for that, the conical washer that sits on the base of the cap and seals everything.
If I can get those parts, I'll let you know what happened tomorrow because apparently my problem is with the pressure.

On another note, if anyone knows... does anyone have any idea why it might be emitting white smoke? Especially when starting and when the engine is working a bit harder.

It emits a lot in 3rd gear and when I accelerate hard. I already added high compression and it's still the same. Well, I'm hoping for some answers or ideas, even if they're not precise, anything helps,:) thanks

Dear Sir, in my humble opinion, and I hope you will correct me if I am wrong, as our friend ecnop stated, I believe your problem does not lie with the injector. Simply put, you must have a pressure issue between the pump and the tank, with the filter and its priming pump acting as an intermediary. This pump also acts as a check valve, preventing fuel from flowing back into the tank and leaving it slightly pressurized between the pump and the filter. (I have solved the starting problem several times by replacing this priming pump.) As others have suggested, check the hoses to the injection pump for leaks, keeping in mind the idea of replacing them with transparent hoses so you can easily spot any leaks, which are sometimes not visible to the naked eye. Regarding the return hose, it doesn't significantly affect engine performance, thus ruling out the white smoke, which I believe is simply air in the injection system.
