DENSO SPARK PLUGS Published by manual-mecanica
Good day, and greetings to all users of this forum. I have a question. I have a 1992 Toyota Corolla, and I replaced the spark plugs with Denso brand plugs, the original replacement for my vehicle. Now, I've heard that these spark plugs need to be gapped, but I've also heard comments that they don't need to be gapped because they come pre-gapped. I hope you can clear up my doubts. Regards

Manual-mechanics' response on the topic Re: DENSO SPARK PLUGS
Hi, I wanted to let you know that in theory, a quality spark plug shouldn't need gapping since it's factory gapped.
Spark plugs are only gapped to verify that they have the correct factory gap and that it matches the vehicle's service manual specifications. This ensures that the spark plugs are properly gapped before installation. Iridium-tipped spark plugs don't require gapping. Remember, overconfidence is dangerous, so I recommend you always check the gap; it doesn't take any time at all.
