Hi, I have a 2000 Polo 1.9 D and when the steering wheel locks, it's extremely difficult to turn the key again.
It's not the oil, as I recently greased the key and it should work.
What could it be?
Thanks in advance.

Good afternoon,
it could be that the ignition switch is a little worn and has developed some play. Try moving the steering wheel a little while you try to turn the key.

I already tried that, but it's still running pretty badly. I also tried adding oil. It was parked for 3 months and some moisture got into the car. Could something inside be rusted?

It's quite possible you have some rust. Try putting some WD-40 inside the ignition switch through the key slot, and I think that should fix it
