Check the progress electrovalve ... which is in the pump ... I have a traffic with the F8Q engine (I do not know if it will be the same pump since mine is 2000 model) and recently I did the same and I threw a lot of smoke when starting ... to check give some small gopels that when they wear out they usually work !!
