Tsuru acceleration failure. Posted by manual-mecanica
Good afternoon, I was brought a 2000 Nissan Tsuru that has a problem. It happens when accelerating; it seems to stall if you accelerate too hard, but if you let it idle, it runs smoothly. It's had a complete tune-up and the filters changed, but nothing has worked. Finally, it's using a lot of gas. Could you help me find the problem?

Manual-mechanics response on the topic Re: Tsuru failure when accelerating
Hi, you said you did a general tune-up. Do you mean a major or minor tune-up?
Did you change the spark plugs? Did you clean the throttle body? When I ask if you cleaned the throttle body, do you mean did you remove it to clean it externally and clean the passages with carburetor cleaner? Did you also clean the idle air control screw and the idle air control valve? Did you replace the PCV valve? Thanks.

Manual-mechanics response on the topic Re: Tsuru failure when accelerating
The throttle body was removed, cleaned with carburetor cleaner, and reinstalled, but the PCV valve wasn't replaced. In fact, when the throttle body was removed, the TPS sensor wasn't connected; the wires were cut. I was wondering if that's the problem. The TPS sensor harness was replaced, but frankly, I don't know how to tell if the TPS is failing since I disconnect it and the engine doesn't change at all. Could you advise me? I would appreciate it.

Hi, did you recalibrate the TPS sensor? You didn't mention cleaning the stabilizer screw or the low-speed air control valve. The problem could be the TPS, although if it were the TPS, it should idle high and stall. Check the vacuum hoses; one of them might be broken. Looking forward to your reply.
