The sound mine made was like an ambulance siren, and they repaired the turbo at the dealership for 1200 euros. I don't know about yours; check the forums and ask a mechanic what specific sound it makes.

Also, make sure there aren't any leaks in the turbo's intake hoses, because even a tiny leak will make a loud whistling noise, and you won't notice any power loss. Run your hand over the pressure hoses with the engine revved slightly to see if you can feel a jet of pressurized air; the same issue can occur with the intercooler. Cheers!
