Chevrolet Aveo braking problem. Posted by manual-mecanica

I'm having a problem with the brakes. When I press the brake pedal, there's a noise like something is dragging, and the ABS light comes on intermittently. If anyone has a solution or any help whatsoever, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time.

The first thing to check is the brake pads and shoes; depending on the noise level, you may be missing pads or shoes. If either fails, the ABS will not compensate and will register the problem.

Change the brake pads. The light that comes on is due to a sensor on the pads that activates when there's no more material left, hence the noise (metal on metal). Best regards
