Problems with a Ford Ikon 1.6. Posted by manual-mecanica
It happens that in the mornings, when the engine is cold, the cylinders fill with gasoline. I've already checked the sensors and they're all working fine.
Could it be a problem with the alarm? Or can anyone help me with this?

Dear colleague, if the cylinders are flooding with gasoline before starting the engine, it could be that the injector isn't sealing properly and is leaking. If the cylinders are flooding when starting the engine, it could be due to an ignition problem, and without a spark at the spark plugs, the engine is flooding. You should check the ignition system, spark plugs, wires, coils, etc. To ensure a good spark, you can disconnect a wire and connect a spark plug with a good ground to it to verify that the spark is strong and strong when starting the engine. If the spark is good and present in all cylinders, it could be that the coolant temperature sensor is indicating a lower temperature than the actual temperature, meaning it's reading incorrectly within the operating range. This causes the computer to inject excessive fuel, thinking the engine coolant is below freezing. Good luck, HECAN

Hecan is absolutely right. The only way fuel gets into the cylinders is through the injector, or its seals if they're the side-loading type. But you have to check if there's spark in the mornings. If there isn't, the cylinders will still fill with fuel since there's no combustion. You can have the injectors tested on a bench to check their condition.

Thanks for your reply. I've already done all the tests. The coolant sensor is new, the spark plugs are firing, and the injectors aren't leaking, but it still only happens in the mornings. Today I removed the air filter, and it was completely clogged. I'm going to do another test this morning. I would appreciate any other recommendations you might have.
