changes in vortec. Published by manual-mecanica
Hi, could anyone tell me if the fuel injection intake can be replaced with a carburetor intake? And the electronic distributor with a simpler one with points? And can the computer be disabled? I want something I can fix myself. Thanks : Ohmy:

Yes, it's possible. You just need to make some modifications to the intake manifold, like installing a TBI or carbureted one. The timing system works the same, but if you find a good mechanic, they can do it without any problems. I do that kind of work here in Venezuela, and it's not difficult

It's true, it's nothing out of the ordinary, that modification can be done, I've done it on Alfa Romeo and Hondas and it hasn't caused any problems.

Manual-mechanics' response on the topic Re: changes in vortec.
Thanks Frito for your reply. I think I understand that what I need to change is the aluminum cover where the air intake and throttle cable enter, right? And everything inside, like the intake manifold and the injectors? Sorry, I don't know the names of the engine parts. Please describe them in detail based on their shape. I believe there's the same intake manifold, but with a carburetor seat, because I've seen other Vortec V6s with carburetors.:) Thanks for your help with this idea.

Manual-mechanics' response on the topic Re: changes in vortec.
Thanks, friend. I'm actually quite unsure how to do the modification. Which parts do I need to move, change, or modify? I've seen other Vortec V6s with the factory carburetor, and I think I should only replace the aluminum intake manifold? Because I have the intake cover where the air enters and has the throttle body, and inside it has the intake manifold and injectors. Do you think I also need to replace the part where the injectors are mounted? Well, friend, I hope you understand. Thanks for your advice. : Cheer:
