Manual-mechanics' response on the topic Re: Chevrolet Aveo, accelerates on its own
If the air intake is broken, it's logical that it's drawing in too much air, and that's what causes the acceleration. The sensor is still reading, but not the correct amount of air entering the engine.

If the engine revs consistently between 1500 and 3000 RPM, it's the TPS (Throttle Position Sensor). It's the same one used in the Corsa or Cielo. You can check it by automatically disconnecting it when the engine returns to idle. If this happens, replace it.

The TPS sensor, typical of all Aveos, disconnect it; it's located next to the throttle body. If you can't find it, disconnect all the sensors you find; it doesn't matter. Then disconnect the battery for several seconds and reconnect it. That's it.

Check the TPS; it works in conjunction with the IAC (if the TPS has 4 wires). If it has 3 wires, they don't work together. Even so, check that it's working properly. I also support the idea that you might have a loose or broken hose that's sucking in a vacuum.

Yes, thank you. I'm getting quotes for the broken hose and also the TPS. I'll check how many wires the TPS has.
