Help!!! Problems with the Tsuru starter. Posted by manual-mecanica
Hello, good day. I'm Pepe from Monterrey, Mexico. I'd like to know if anyone can help me find the problem with my car. It's a 1994 Nissan Tsuru, automatic. The problem is that when I turn the key, it cranks, the ring turns, but it doesn't start. The tests they did were: they checked the spark plugs to see if they were sparking, they removed the spark plugs, and at the fuel filter, they disconnected the hose to see if the fuel pump had pressure, and it seems to be fine. The first mechanic who checked it said it might be the ignition module. I think if that were the case, it wouldn't even crank. My question is, what could be preventing it from starting?

Sorry, what could be the reason it won't start?

Is there spark at the spark plugs?

Yes, there is a spark. Talking with my dad yesterday, he mentioned that it's possible the time chain has been skipped. Could this be possible?

It's very unlikely the timing chain would jump; a belt, maybe, but the chain, I highly doubt it. Do you have pulse at the injectors? Fuel pump pressure? Remove the spark plugs and check that they aren't wet; it might be flooded. Otherwise, you'll have to use a scanner to see if there are any fault codes.
