Help please with a Jeep Cherokee. Posted by manual-mecanica
I have a Cherokee. The problem is that it starts normally when cold and runs for about 10 minutes, then the RPMs start fluctuating between 300 and 2000 RPM on their own, without me accelerating. Everything was fine. I had the automatic transmission repaired and the spark plugs changed. Finally, I took it in for an oil change with the engine hot. They changed everything, and I started it normally. Then, after driving more than 1 km, it stalled. I restarted it and continued driving, then turned it off. After a while, I tried to start it again, but it wouldn't start. What could be the problem? I would greatly appreciate your help.

Check the ground connections, especially the one from the engine to the chassis, and check the battery's condition, since even the slightest voltage drop can cause the computer and module to malfunction. I have a 1988 model, and when it starts acting up, I service the electrical system, and it runs like new for a good while.
