Problems with the handbrake light on a 2007 BMW 325i. Posted by manual-mecanica

I have a 2007 BMW 325i and the parking brake light stays on, even when the parking brake is disengaged. I scanned it and it generated fault code 5DE3(24035). Can anyone help me find a solution? I've already replaced the rear brake pads and the sensor, but it's still the same.
Any help would be appreciated.

Sorry, I'm not very knowledgeable about BMWs, but generally, if the brake fluid level is low, that light comes on in most cars. Please correct me if I'm wrong and it's something specific?

Not in all models; some have brake pad wear sensors, and others, like the Cavalier, tend to break a plastic connector that activates with the body and leaves the light on. Of course, as you correctly point out, there are also those that turn on due to low brake fluid, but that's not all of them either.
