Problem with C5 coolant fan. Posted by manual-mecanica
Good evening, I'm hoping someone can help me with a problem I'm having with the fan in my C5. It turns on when the temperature drops, but it doesn't turn off even when the temperature goes down, and it also doesn't turn off when I turn off the climate control. Thanks in advance.

Look, you might have a problem with the temperature sensor; it has three wires. That's what makes the electric fan work. Also, check the black electronic box in front of the fan... One question: when the fan is on, does it run slowly or quickly?

It's important that you provide a little more information, such as the fan speed (high or low). If it's not shutting off, it could be as simple as low coolant or a faulty relay. To test it, you need to manually activate it. If it has a temperature sensor, locate the sensor and bridge it. Disconnect the bridge and see if it stops. If it doesn't have a sensor, you can do it from the temperature sensor. Check it and let us know.

Hi, I replaced the fan because the old one burned out. It works fine, it's fast, the only problem is that it doesn't stop, neither due to temperature nor when the A/C is on. I was told there's a fuse box on the front side that controls the fan. Thanks for your reply.
