Manual-mechanics' response on the topic Re: White smoke when starting from cold
Can someone explain to me where the hydraulic brake system connects to the engine? Getting back to the problem, and aside from the color of the smoke, which is important, my question is: is the vehicle consuming water or oil? If so, and the vehicle is diesel, it could have a burned-out glow plug igniter, which would lead to an uneven start and white smoke from unburned diesel fuel until the pre-chambers warm up and the engine runs smoothly. Good luck, Pablo. -
PS: Brake fluid, don't forget to check it!

This happens because there's a hose that runs from the vacuum assembly in the intake manifold to the brake booster. If the brake booster's diaphragm is broken and the master cylinder seals are worn, it's very likely that brake fluid will start leaking into the intake manifold due to vacuum pressure. Cheers!

My friend, if that were the case, first of all, I'd already have brake problems. Besides, the vehicle is diesel, so it doesn't have a vacuum in the intake like a gasoline engine, and it must have a vacuum pump that could be isolated in the alternator or separate in the block or cylinder head. Hmmmm, I've never seen brake fluid coming out of the exhaust in my life, and I've been doing this for quite a few years. I agree with Mathiew, "Let's put cars in the hands of professional mechanics!" But only in that respect!

My friend, I recommend you check the condition of the glow plugs, as they may be the cause of the cold start problem

First, check the levels and if oil is needed. Check the spark plugs; if the tips are stained, the valve seals have worn out, and you should know if you have had overheating issues, as this is what causes the valve seals to harden.
