The same is already late to contribute anything to your problem, but in any way "just in case" my opinion goes there:
after reading each and every one of the suggestions that have been made, it seems that "everyone" gives the state of the battery. And possibly your problem is reduced unique and exclusively to that the battery has a short -circuit glass and does not take charge or the one that can take little, it goes in a few hours for that short circuit.
To verify this, what you would have to do is use a densimeter and check the density of the six vessels that make up the 12 V battery. This density must be above 1: 260 in each glass, if not, it would indicate a short circuit in that element and by much ammeter that you put, it will never mark any discharge, since it is being produced through the interior of the battery.
In any case, the symptoms and behavior of your battery are typical of a "short" battery: it quickly carries it, it releases it equally fast, sometimes it occurs, sometimes not, etc.
If you have not taken this into account and you continue with the same battery we are talking about, at any time you can be short -circuit again because it is usually produced by the metal stools that the plates release and that at the time they fall to the bottom of the battery and this can look very mommently.
Have you treated your battery, looking at and filling the level periodically with distilled water? How old is the same? although the latter often does not mean anything.
I hope I have helped you, if not, others.
All the best
