Ignition coils for Renault Megane 1.4 16V. Published by manual-mecanica
Many owners of a 1.4 16v or 1.6 16v Megane are experiencing frequent ignition coil failures. I'd like to know if anyone understands the cause of this problem, or if it's a fault with the coils themselves. In any case, is there a permanent solution? Thanks. Best regards.

Could someone tell me why I catch a cold every winter?
... I think so, and it's because the design of my body (with all my bits inside) means that when the temperature changes, my defenses drop and bam! Another cold.

That type of engine always burns out those darn coils, it's not a problem with the car or engine, it's the design of the coils themselves and the high performance they're subjected to. Even slightly worn spark plugs can cause the coil to burn out.

But Megabeat will explain all this technical stuff to you

. I usually install Bosch spark plugs and Denso coils, but my friend, I guarantee they'll last a lifetime.

Manual-mechanics ' response on the topic Re: RENAULT MEGANE 1.4 16V COILS
Hi, I have a 1999 Renault Megane Coupe 1.0 and I'm really annoyed. The idle speed fluctuates a lot. I've taken apart the idle air control valve and cleaned it, but it's still the same. I think this car has a lot of problems with this model. I hope you can help me. Thanks a lot.

Hi Tonisan, I have a 2002 1.4 and I had the same problem. Since installing Bosch ignition coils, I haven't had any issues; the last set has about 50,000 km on it. I hope my comment helps.

Hey Miguel, how's it going? Could you tell me why my idle isn't stable? I have a 2000 Coupe 1.4 16v. When I stop at traffic lights, it fluctuates a lot. I took it to a garage and they said it was an air intake, but they couldn't find it. Thanks, mate.
