Eclipse GST 98 - Normal Sensor Values Published by manual-mecanica
Good morning, I have a 1998 Mitsubishi Eclipse GST.
I recently bought a scanner to read the ECU values. The device works fine, but I need to know the correct values for each sensor on this car so I can compare them with the information the scanner provides.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Manual-mechanical response on the topic Eclipse GST 98 - Normal sensor values
- The temperature sensor varies according to the engine temperature.

- The TPS sensor values should vary between 0.5 and 1.1v with the throttle closed, up to a value of approximately 4.8v with the throttle open; this is tested with different acceleration states.
- the oxygen sensor should vary constantly within ranges of 0.350 to 0.750v.
- The MAF should vary between 1.8v and 2.9v at idle and it should vary when accelerating.
Here's an explanatory video... Good luck.

Manual-mechanical response on the topic Eclipse GST 98 - Normal sensor values
Thanks so much for your help, Guillermo!
I have one more question:
My car had a TPS sensor error. I cleared the error from the log and it hasn't come back since. What I don't know is if the computer automatically resets to the correct values after the error or if they need to be manually adjusted. There are no errors now, but I think it's running rich because after a 1600 km trip there was soot on the bumper, which obviously came from the exhaust.

Thanks again for your help.

What error code did it have?
If you used the scanner, it should have given you a fault code; that's where we need to start.
Tell us what it is, and we'll see what the problem might be and how to fix it.
Regards

The error code was P0120, which, according to the description I found on the following page: www.troublecodes.net/mitsu/ , means: Throttle Position circuit. The thing is, it hasn't reappeared, and I don't know if the excessive fuel consumption I mentioned in the other message could be related to that error or something else.
