High-flow filter. Published by manual-mecanica
Hi, I'd like to know how a high-flow air filter helps or hinders a Seat Leon 1.8 without a turbo.

The filter helps because it allows more air to enter the engine more freely, giving it more power and a sportier sound. The only downside is that the car will consume a little more fuel

Manual-mechanics' response on the topic Re: High flow filter
What they say about the high-flow filter might be true, but it's also important to consider that these filters don't prevent the entry of particles that can cause wear on the cylinders, pistons, and piston rings. The power increase is practically imperceptible, and it's logical that fuel consumption increases; if more air enters, the engine must increase the fuel metering.

Forget about high-flow tuning filters, most of those components are absolute garbage that serve no purpose except to empty your wallet with car problems. Or do you think Volkswagen doesn't know how to make their air filters?

Manual-mechanics' response on the topic Re: High flow filter
That's right, my friend, the high-flow air filter... or air filter... or whatever you want to call it, serves no purpose other than two things:
1) To let dust particles into the cylinders, which then act like sandpaper and cause premature wear on your engine; and
2) For nothing more than the same thing as in point 1... haha.
Don't waste your money on that stuff, my friend. The design of the original air filters is made to prevent that kind of damage to your engine.
Cheers!
