It is hard to put the 1st speed

The car is a 1999 Renault Megane Scenic 1.6 16v.
On Friday I changed the clutch and tested it, and everything was working perfectly until today, Sunday, when first gear doesn't engage smoothly; I have to force it.
My question is:
could it be that I adjusted the rod that goes from the gearshift lever to the gearbox incorrectly?
