Transmission or clutch? Posted by manual-mecanica
Good afternoon to all.

I have a 1999 American Sentra, a week ago he began to lose power and in slopes he revolutionized a lot, I made a diagnosis of worn clucth and apparently that indicated everything. We begin to disarm some parts to lower the speed box (manual) and thus change the clutch. The clutch bought it in agency and was with different design although it had similar dimensions to the one I already had. At the time of climbing the speed box and starting the transmission arrows, we tried to validate that the clutch was well installed we tried to rotate the arrows with the 2nd speed gear in a velocity box (all this without turning the engine) could easily turn both boxes and we realized that the engine flyer did not turn installed, and continue the same.

Anyway, the last proof I did was lower the box, put the arrows and turn the arrows to see if the main axis of the clutch revolved, but this never happened. In fact place different speeds of speeds and obtained the same result.

When I turn the main axis by placing the clutch disk inside the axis, the arrows turn but with very little strength (I stop with one hand and the main axis continues to turn) or do not even turn.

The only thing you lack is put oil to the gearbox ... Do you have to have oil to be able to engage correctly or do I need to repair the speed box?
