JETTA A4 OXYGEN SENSOR Published by manual-mecanica
I have a Jetta A4 and the oxygen sensor that goes on the catalytic converter isn't connected. I already looked underneath and there's a small black box, but it only has one connector and it's occupied by the sensor near the exhaust manifold. Does anyone know if it's supposed to be connected and where?

Thanks.

Manual-mechanical response on the topic of JETTA A4 OXYGEN SENSOR
Colleague:
If the vehicle has an oxygen sensor, you can be sure it's connected. Furthermore, if it's not connected, engine performance decreases because the computer can't analyze the air-fuel mixture reading, thus affecting the engine's ability to set the optimal mixture for any operating conditions. The connector should be located near the sensor. If it isn't, I recommend taking it to a specialized workshop for repair. Now, if you've only seen the wiring harness connector and there's no sensor to connect it to, don't worry. Factory wiring systems are often designed to be standardized, and they may or may not include certain components, depending on what are called optional extras. This could be one such case.

The best way is to follow the cable run to see where it ended up; sometimes they disconnect them and coil the cable further up.

The sensor connector is at the bottom of the body side of the co -pilot under the plastic plate of eight screws
