Excessive temperature? Published by manual-mecanica
Hi everyone, I hope you're all doing well.
I'm having a bit of trouble with a Vivaro dCi. I've put a low-mileage engine from a wrecked Laguna into it. The thing is, I've tested the engine twice already, and even though it's practically new, I think it's overheating. What should I do? I'm so unlucky! Any ideas?

Manual-mechanics response on the topic of excessive temperature?
First, check if the thermostat is working properly and not stuck. Then, check if the electric fan is adjusting to the correct temperature. Let us know how it goes. Regards. :(

Also check that the water pump is working by circulating the water, because even if the thermostat is fine, if it's missing vanes or it spins without driving the turbine, it's as if nothing is working...things like that have been seen.

What do you mean by excessive? Because I remember that Renault engines run hotter than normal, that is, around 96 degrees is normal, but what the forum members say is correct, check the thermostat and check the temperature sensor. You can put in a lower one if you want, or simply do a parallel installation if you don't have a problem with the electronics.
