Help with time Suzuki SX4 2010

Hello, can someone help me with the timing chain on a 2010 Suzuki SX4? The manuals indicate that there are marks on the valve body below the camshafts, but this engine doesn't have those marks. This engine only has one chain that drives both the intake and exhaust camshafts. It also has a VVT system. It all started with lubrication problems; oil was getting into the pistons. That problem was resolved, but now I'm having trouble with the timing. After setting it correctly, the engine won't start.

Chains always have marks or darker links; you have to check and clean them well. And if you don't do it the old-fashioned way, piston at TDC and valves at overlap.

Thanks for replying. The piston marks are up, the valves are clear, but nothing seems to work. It's still the same. Today I reassembled everything the old-school way, but the engine still won't start. I'm going to check the compression tomorrow in case I bent a valve. I also checked the VVT; when it's not lubricated or clogged with old oil, it causes problems as if the engine has no compression. But I checked it and cleaned the entire camshaft. We'll see what happens tomorrow.
