I need help with a 1996 Blazer. Posted by manual-mecanica
The problem is that my truck won't start. I already changed the fuel pump, and nothing changed. I pour gas directly into it, and it starts on its own until it runs out. I've already used scanners, and they don't show any errors. It feels like it's not getting fuel. It's a 4.3 Vortec engine. I hope you can help me.

Hi, could you be a little clearer about your diagnosis of the truck and what tests you performed?

I need to know the location of the fuel pump.
It's malfunctioning, and I want to repair it myself.

First, you need to check the fuel pump pressure. The Vortec engine operates at
55 to 60 psi. If the fuel pump isn't providing this pressure, it won't start. You need to connect a fuel gauge and try to start the engine; the pressure shouldn't drop below 55 psi. If it does, that's why it won't start. The minimum pressure required for starting is 55 psi. If the pressure is correct, you need to check the negative signals going to the injectors. There's a square connector on top of the engine where you test these signals. Good luck, friend.
