Hi, these cars usually have an idle air control valve. If that's what's faulty, which from the limited information it probably is, replacing it will fix the problem. Replace it; a diagnostic scan will confirm this. Cheers!

Hello, greetings. Before you decide to replace it, you can try cleaning the IAC valve. If you still have the same problem afterward, then you can replace it. You didn't mention if the engine just stalls or if it's accompanied by excessive black smoke, which would be another issue.
I hope it's just a problem with the idle speed being adjusted incorrectly.
The IAC valve is located next to the throttle body, usually held in place with two Torx screws.
Use thinner to clean the tip and stem, as well as the seat inside its base
