Heating problems. Posted by manual-mecanica
Hi, I'm having problems with my 2002 Peugeot Partner van. It started with the windshield fogging up, and then the low coolant warning light came on. When I checked, the passenger side was completely wet. The problem is, I can't figure out where the coolant is coming from. The visible hose looks fine, and I can't seem to remove the heater core, but I can't find where to start it. Does anyone know how to do it?

That happens when the heater core is damaged. In most vehicles, you just need to remove the glove box to access the heater core, which is usually located next to the heater fan. However, if you urgently need to be able to drive and use the vehicle, a quick solution is to block the water flow into the engine. This way, you won't have overheating problems while you get a replacement heater core and figure out how to remove the necessary part of the dashboard.

Armando is correct in saying you can bridge the hoses, but in that vehicle the hoses connect with a plastic coupling, and to bridge them you'd have to cut them. If you do, you won't be able to reconnect them. That radiator is sold, but it's expensive and there are no alternatives. The other problem is that the radiator in your vehicle is located in the middle of the console, so a lot of disassembly is required, but it can be done, it's just time-consuming.
