My car does not turn on

My 2005 Renault Megane 2-liter won't start. When I press the start button, it doesn't start, and an alarm appears on the dashboard saying "steering OFF." Please help.

Wow, that car is kind of complicated. The first thing to check would be all the fuses because it has electronic power steering, but a problem with the steering doesn't necessarily prevent the vehicle from starting. It would be good to check if it's not starting because there's no spark or a lack of fuel, that way we can rule out anti-theft devices and everything, but it would be ideal to run a scan.
