Peugeot 306 estate power steering pump. Posted by manual-mecanica

Hello, my problem is an unbearable squeaking noise in the power steering pump bearing where the belt runs. It disappears when I grease it. Do you recommend repairing it or replacing the pump? If so, is removing the pump a lot of work? Thank you very much in advance.

You're better off getting a used pump than having one repaired; in fact, many pulleys come welded on.
Labor costs vary depending on the engine, and you haven't mentioned the engine type (gasoline, 1.6, 2.0 16v, turbo, HDI). If you provide that information, I can tell you how to replace it.
