Change Audi A3 2004 steering wheel with change palettes

Hi, I hope you can help me. I replaced the original steering wheel with paddle shifters on my 2004 Audi A3 3.2 with a newer steering wheel that also has paddle shifters and audio controls, but now the paddle shifters aren't working. I expected the audio controls to be the problem, but the paddle shifters are. Has anyone successfully done this modification? Do you know if I need to change the wiring harness, module, or something else? Do you have the part number? Thanks a million in advance!
